Casa da Bica is named after an existing ´spout´ of water that quenched the shepherds´ and their cattle’s thirst during the summer, when they used to climb up the mountain where the pastures were greener. Then, they found shelter in this house.
Casa da Bica is now restored and adapted to receive guests and provide them with all comfort and convenience. Here, you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere while admiring the beautiful landscape of the village of Branda da Aveleira.
This village is one of the several scattered upland areas of Parque Nacional da Peneda-Geręs. It proposes you a stay in total harmony with nature, where the only inhabitants of this village are animals, specially the ´Garranos`, a horse breed native of northern Portugal, are very common here.
Enjoy the simplicity of a stay on the mountain and walk the trails, discovering the flora and fauna of this region. It is a charming region that changes radically depending on the seasons, being totally covered by snow in the winter and by flowers in the summer.
