About the House
Casa da Rio is the biggest house in the village of Branda da Aveleira. This house was formerly a refuge to the ´brandeiros´. They used to ascend the mountain during the summer with their cattle, when the pastures were better, and returned to the village in the winter.
Casa do Rio has been totally recovered to receive guests with all comfort and convenience they deserve. This house also proposes a tranquil atmosphere and a breathtaking scenery of Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês.
Branda da Aveleira is one of the several scattered upland areas of a verdant village named Melgaço. It proposes a stay in total harmony with nature, where the only inhabitants of this village are animals, specially the ´Garranos`, a horse breed native of northern Portugal, are very common here.
Enjoy the simplicity of a stay on the mountain and walk the trails discovering the flora and fauna of this region.

First floor: Living room (sofa, fireplace and TV), Kitchen (stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, cookware and utensils), 2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom.
Loft: 1 double bedroom.
Exterior: Private covered terrace, BBQ and parking lot.
General: Bed linens and towels are included. Electric heating. Products for breakfast will be provided. Pets are welcome.
Prices:
Exclusive use of the house for 6 persons:: €115/night.
Extra bed: €15/night.
Notes: These prices are for the exclusive use of the house. Extra bed only for children up to 12 years. Minimum stay: 2 nights.
